Small Group Helper

Position Summary: 

The Small Group Helper has the wonderful opportunity to make a lasting positive impact on the life of a child and participate in laying the foundations of their faith alongside the small group leader. It is a role that assists the small group leader and helps facilitate connection for kids in a small group setting.

What you will do: 

  • Help support the small group leader in their Sunday lesson plan.
  • Help lead an age specific classroom of kids.
  • Help facilitate discussions, group activities and crafts. 
  • Pray for the children in the group. 

Who you are:  

This person loves working with children and is highly relational. Demonstrating a growing Christian faith, patience, and participate in faith-based conversations, the small group helper is prepared to assist and facilitate a loving environment for children. 

Knowledge/Skills and other Requirements:  

  • A willingness to learn.
  • Attend a yearly plan to protect training.
  • Police Background Check (Done by LCA)
  • Engage with children through play.
  • Open to learning classroom management.

Check-in Volunteer

Position Summary: 

Our Check-In Team is the frontline of our children’s ministry, warmly welcoming each family and child as they arrive and check in to LCA Kids. Serving as the first and last point of contact for LCA Kids, this role ensures a level of safety for our kids and volunteers.  

What you will do: 

  • Operate our check-in/check-out station.
  • Welcome families and children as they sign in.
  • Ensure each child is picked up by an authorized adult.
  • Help new families register.
  • Provide new families with information regarding LCA Kids.

Who you are:  

You are a person with exceptional hospitality skills. Warm, welcoming, and approachable, able to engage in conversation with both children and adults at LCA. 

Knowledge/Skills and other Requirements:  

  • Police Background Check (Done by LCA)
  • Attend our yearly plan to protect training.

Small Group Leader

What you will do: 

  • Lead an age specific classroom of kids.
  • Facilitate discussions, group activities and crafts.
  • Read the curriculum and prepare a discussion.
  • Pray for the children in your group.

Who you are:  

This person loves working with children and is highly relational. Demonstrating a mature Christian faith, able to teach, and lead faith-based conversations, the small group leader is prepared to help children learn about Jesus and all he has done for them. 

Knowledge/Skills and other Requirements:  

  • A Member of LCA.
  • A willingness to learn skills in working with kids.
  • Able to teach.
  • Understand behaviour dynamics.
  • Attend a yearly plan to protect training.
  • Police Background Check (Done by LCA)
